ACTION TEAMS

The Northern Sierra Opioid Safety Coalition houses three action teams that focus on proven intervention strategies:
promoting safe prescribing practices; increasing access to medication-assisted addiction treatment; and increasing access to Naloxone, a life-saving opioid blocker that reverses the effects of an overdose.

Safe Prescribing

Objective 1: By July 2017, increase the number of times CURES is accessed in the four-county region by 50 percent using “total reports”.
Objective 2: By July 2017, reduce the average number of morphine equivalents prescribed per resident per year in the four-county region by 15 percent.

If you would like to participate in the monthly Safe Prescribing action team meetings, please email Andrew Woodruff by clicking here

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Objective: By July, 2017, increase the number of buprenorphine prescribers in the four-county region by two.

If you would like to participate in the monthly Medication-Assisted Treatment action team meetings,
please email James Wilson by clicking here

Naloxone Access

Objective: By July, 2017, distribute Naloxone and train on its use with 100 at-risk residents in the four-county region.
