|Preserving, Protecting & Promoting History
The Plumas County Museum Association, formed in 1971, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, private, membership-sponsored, nonprofit society dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting the history of Plumas County through the Plumas County Museum. It is governed by a membership-elected, seven-member Board of Trustees.
Maintaining Area History
The museum association owns and maintains the 1878 Variel Home as well as the 1859 Goodwin Law Office, the oldest continually used law office in the State of California.
The museum is funded solely through memberships and donations, which are tax-deductible.
