The Plumas County Tobacco Use Reduction Program’s purpose is to reduce tobacco use through community education and awareness, tobacco use prevention programs, policy development, and promotion of cessation. Staff working on this project design and implement educational activities to increase awareness about the consequences of tobacco use. |

Baby Think First Funded by the California Department of Health Services Office of Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Family Planning Branch, this project provides curriculum and infant simulator dolls for use by teens and young adults throughout Plumas County. The goal of participation in the life-skills/parenting simulation is to delay initiation of sexual activity, and to reduce the number of teens who become pregnant. Peer Education and Teen Theater components involve teens as positive role models. |

Plumas Community Network (PCN), a collaborative formed in 1994, has extensive experience in community organization, community planning and consensus building. PCN seeks to increase community capacity through development of individual and community skills. |

Safe Kids Injury Prevention Project Implemented in cooperation with local resource centers, law enforcement, Plumas Unified School District, and county hospitals providing prenatal and maternity services, this project provides low or no cost infant and child car seats, low or no cost bicycle helmets, and safety education for all Plumas County residents.
